Sensei Freddy Victoria – Lead Instructor

Sensei Freddy Victoria began his martial arts training at just seven years old, studying Seido Karate at his local YMCA. By twelve, he was training at the Seido Honbu (headquarters) dojo in New York City, and by thirteen, he had joined adult classes and started assisting senior instructors in children’s classes.

Living close to the Honbu dojo gave Sensei Freddy the opportunity to train intensively during school breaks, taking part in both regular classes and special sessions with senior instructors and visiting martial artists. At age fifteen, he earned his adult Shodan (black belt), marking a major milestone in his journey.

Shortly after, he spent a year living and studying in Japan, continuing his Seido practice while also exploring other disciplines. He trained in Kyudo and Judo 4–6 times per week and took his first Kyokushinkai classes at the Kyokushin Honbu dojo in Ikebukuro. This experience sparked a deep interest in knockdown karate—a style that would become a major focus in the years ahead.

While living in London, Sensei Freddy trained with both Seido and IFK/BKK Kyokushin practitioners at the Bethnal Green Karate Club. He also competed in several prominent tournaments, including the Enshin Karate Sabaki Challenge, the IFK Valencia Cup, the USA IFK Championships, and multiple regional events.

Upon returning to New York, he began teaching knockdown kumite and conditioning classes at Seido and coaching students for tournament competition. In 2010 and 2011, he earned first place in the Men’s Heavyweight Division at the USA IFK Championships in Rochester, NY.

In 2015, Sensei Freddy transitioned from Seido Karate to join the Westchester Kyokushin Karate Club, where he now serves as the lead instructor. He remains dedicated to training students of all ages, helping them develop strong technique, discipline, and a competitive spirit.
